THESE PROJECTS WERE COMPLETED WHILE TAKING AFTER EFFECTS KICKSTART AND ANIMATION BOOTCAMP THROUGH SCHOOL OF MOTION.
PONG CHALLENGE
A fun challenge. This project really got me understanding how to show physics in animations to give them depth. Especially with the puck being shot around and making sure the compression look realistic. Getting comfortable with the puppet tool was the biggest take from this project.
BRAIN HOLE
Having to dive deep in to compositions and sub compositions was the biggest take from this project. Further learning of the importance of strong comp and layer hierarchy. This allowed to do give specific parts motion to give the piece more character.
NUDL
Utilizing the puppet tool to show the physics of motion with objects in motion tend to stay in motion. Working with the puppet tool to keep the nudls wiggling with the abrupt stop and then using the puppet tool to show a decay in momentum from the stop was the main focus the the U squish is the icing on the cake.
CIRCLE SOCIETY
Doing all the transitions was the biggest take away for me. Having the the fame fall in from the left is so simple but so solid of a transition. Having the logo come in is my favorite part. This is where I was able to mess more with having the icon come together like a puzzle with having the pieces rotate in and rise in opacity.
KEY FRAME KILLA
Kinetic type gangsta rap music video about key framing. The part with the lowrider 64 Impala is my favorite. Taught me how to take image edited in photoshop and then layering in After Effects to keep the back wheel still as the car bounced.
GEOMETRIC DANCE PARTY
Synchronizing moving shapes to music. From having a history of playing in bands I found this project very enjoyable. Using frame with no motion to have the squares feel at the beginning took some trial and error but turned out awesome. As well as having the throbbing rings around the circle was a fun animation but very tedious to make it look good. Biggest take away developing how to sync the motion with the sound.
NOSTRAL CORKS
The final for the After Effect Kickstart course. The challenge and biggest take from this project was making an animation and having to keep the integrity of the artist that designed all the assets used. Very awesome feel of how a collaboration would have to work.
